The RSG-Brazil Team is pleased to officially announce and invite you to the 4th edition of the ISCB - Brazilian Student Council Symposium, with the theme: Women in Bioinformatics.

The 4th BR-SCS is a forward-thinking student conference to discuss the recent advances, existing state-of-the-art techniques, algorithms and applications of bioinformatics and computational biology. This year we will also discuss the challenges of being a woman in Science/Bioinformatics.

The symposium will be held in Campos do Jordão - SP on October 30th, preceding the 15th X-Meeting.

Through the day, selected students will present flash talks about their research in the fields of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. In the morning, an amazing key talk will be presented by Dr. Rafaela Salgado Ferreira, winner of the L'Oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science Award in 2018. Besides that, a panel discussion with brilliant science women will take place in the afternoon, these scientists will approach their careers and discuss their achievements and challenges in the field.


We welcome abstracts from all levels of research students and early career post-doctoral researchers. All abstracts will be considered for poster and oral presentations and the outstanding ones will be awarded.

For the panel discussion, two selected students will have the opportunity to give flash presentations about the theme Women in Bioinformatics and to participate in the discussion session.
